Why I Believe

Image
Hola hola! We had two more exchanges this week. For the first one, Hermana Harrop came to my area with me and Hermana Curbelo. The second exchange was with my first companion Hermana Farnsworth! She also came to our area. I'm still in the area that Hermana Farnsworth and I served in together, so it was fun to serve with her here again.  The Relief Society in our ward had an activity about anxiety and depression and some of the resources that are available for people dealing with these things. It was amazing! The lady who spoke is named Veronica, and she works with LDS Services. She talked about the importance of self-care. She said that we must first take care of ourselves before we can take care of anyone else. Mental health is so important, and I encourage you all to make sure that you are taking time to care for yourself! There was a Why I Believe event last night. A few people talked about why they believe in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and shared how they came to know tha...

THUNDER

Hola todos! I hope that you are all doing well! We had another exchange this week. I went to an area called La Jolla with Sister Harrop and Sister Iputi. It was Valentine's Day, so we made a bunch of hearts out of paper and wrote on them. Then we went to the houses of some single women in the ward and stuck the hearts on their front doors. Hermana Iputi testified that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith wouldn't have been able to translate it without the power of God. Right after she finished testifying, there was a huge burst of thunder. We all just looked at each other for a second then started laughing. Sister Iputi said "God really just said TRUE." It was crazy timing. We finished teaching them about the Book of Mormon and gave them each a copy. They we...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hola!! We had an exchange last week. This transfer is a little crazy because there are a lot of trios of missionaries. I ended up being with 3 other sister missionaries for the exchange! It was like being with another companionship all day. That never really happens so it was strange, but super fun! We stopped by a member that we had never been able to visit because her husband doesn't really like missionaries. She ended up letting us in and visiting with us for a little while! It was a miracle! She told us that she had actually served a mission when she was younger and that she loves missionaries. We didn't know her very well because we had never been able to visit her, so it was amazing to get to know her a little better.  We were knocking some doors at an apartment complex when we saw a guy working on his truck. We decided to talk to him. We walked up to him and asked if he had talked to missionaries before and if he would be interested in learning more about the Gospel of J...
