God's Will

Hola todos! I hope that you all had an amazing week!  On the 19th, I reached one year as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its amazing to look back at the last year and think about all of the wonderful people who I have met and the incredible experiences that I have had. This truly is the Lord's work, and I am so grateful that I get to be a part of it. As missionaries, we are able to go to the temple every six months. Hermana Harrop is also about to reach one year as a missionary, so her and I went to the Mesa temple today. It was the first time that I had been to that temple. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Being in the temple and feeling the Spirit there was incredible. It truly is the House of the Lord.  Last week, we had interviews with the Fisks and our Zone Leaders. Interviews are always awesome. Its so cool to have one on one time with President Fisk to counsel and ask questions.  One of the young men in our ward gave his ...

The Atonement Of Christ

Hola todos! I hope that you are all doing well! This last week we stopped teaching a lot of our friends. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get into contact with Alberto for 2 weeks. He also hasn't been coming to church. We aren't sure what happened with him. Sarah and Angel told us that they are too busy to continue meeting with us. Jazmín also said that she is too busy right now because of her crazy work schedule. Although its hard to stop teaching them, I know that they will be ready someday in the future.  We had a few visits with the members in our ward to get to know them and to help them continue strengthening their faith in Jesus Christ. We visited the Whitmer family. Brother Whitmer is the Elders Quorum President. His son just started his mission in Nebraska about a month ago. We also visited the Taylor family. Sister Taylor is the Young Women's President. We are trying to work more with her and see how we can help the young women in the ward. The members h...

Hola familia y amigos! I hope that you are all doing well! Last week was a little crazy because Hermana Harrop and I got sick. We spent a few days in the apartment recovering. We were bummed to not be able to go to work and meet with the people that were supposed to have lessons with. We felt like us being sick was having a negative effect on our area. However, we started talking one night and realized how silly it was for us to think that us being sick for a few days could stop the Lord's work. The next morning, we were still sick, but we received some referrals from other missionaries. These missionaries had been looking for people they taught in the past but found other families who actually live in our area and were interested in having a visit. We were able to call these people and set up visits for later in the week. We then went to the visits and they were awesome! Hermana Harrop and I knew that us staying home truly was best and that even though we weren't able to go ou...
