Why I Believe
Hola hola!
We had two more exchanges this week.
For the first one, Hermana Harrop came to my area with me and Hermana Curbelo. The second exchange was with my first companion Hermana Farnsworth! She also came to our area. I'm still in the area that Hermana Farnsworth and I served in together, so it was fun to serve with her here again.
The Relief Society in our ward had an activity about anxiety and depression and some of the resources that are available for people dealing with these things. It was amazing! The lady who spoke is named Veronica, and she works with LDS Services. She talked about the importance of self-care. She said that we must first take care of ourselves before we can take care of anyone else. Mental health is so important, and I encourage you all to make sure that you are taking time to care for yourself!
There was a Why I Believe event last night. A few people talked about why they believe in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and shared how they came to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I love listening to people's conversion stories. I've come to realize that we must all become converts. Conversion doesn't simply happen when we are baptized and made members of the Church. True conversion comes when we decide to put our life in the Lord's hands and do all that we can to follow Him. In Alma 23:6 it says, "And as sure as the Lord liveth, so sure as many as believed, or as many as were brought to the knowledge of the truth, through the preaching of Ammon and his brethren, according to the spirit of revelation and of prophecy, and the power of God working miracles in them—yea, I say unto you, as the Lord liveth, as many of the Lamanites as believed in their preaching, and were converted unto the Lord, never did fall away." The last few words of this verse are so important - "and were converted unto the Lord, never did fall away." I testify that when we are converted unto the Lord, we will never fall away from His gospel. Yes, there will be tough times when our faith in Him will be tested. But, once we become converted to Him, we will always have Him to fall back on. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each of you.
I love you all!
Con Amor,
