THUNDER
Hola todos! I hope that you are all doing well!
We had another exchange this week. I went to an area called La Jolla with Sister Harrop and Sister Iputi. It was Valentine's Day, so we made a bunch of hearts out of paper and wrote on them. Then we went to the houses of some single women in the ward and stuck the hearts on their front doors. That night, there was a major thunder storm. We had a visit with a lady named Elida and her husband. We taught them about the Restoration of the Gospel. The Spirit in the room was so strong! Hermana Iputi testified that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith wouldn't have been able to translate it without the power of God. Right after she finished testifying, there was a huge burst of thunder. We all just looked at each other for a second then started laughing. Sister Iputi said "God really just said TRUE." It was crazy timing. We finished teaching them about the Book of Mormon and gave them each a copy. They were so eager to start readying it! I'm excited for Sister Harrop and Sister Iputi to continue teaching them!
There is a little Mexican Ice Cream shop here called La Michoacana. Hermana Morgan loves it, so she wanted Hermana Curbelo and I to try it. It was amazing! It's so cute inside too.
Another comanionship met a guy named Misael, and he told them that he was interested in coming to church. He lives in our area, so the missionaries referred him to us. He came to church yesterday and brought two other people with him! After church, they told us that they are going to come again next week! We are going to have a visit with them later this week to start teaching them.
During Zone Conference, President Eyre invited all of the missionaries in our mission to read the book of Enos in the Book of Mormon every day for two weeks. Its only one chapter, and it is so powerful! I learn something new each time I read it. It talks a lot about Faith in Jesus Christ. In verses 5-8 it says
5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed. 6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away. 7 And I said: Lord, how is it done? 8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
I love these verses. I know that we can be made whole through Jesus Christ. His Atonement makes it possible for us to have joy in this life and in the world to come. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and His Atonement. I invite you all to read Enos and do something this week to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ. I know that he loves each one of you and wants you to be happy.
I love you all!
Con Amor,
