Christmas Miracle

Feliz Navidad! We had zone conference last week. I absolutely love zone conference! It makes me feel inspired and gives me ideas about how I can become a better missionary. This zone conference was all about faith in Jesus Christ. President Eyre talked about how it is not faith that is the first principle of the gospel, but faith in Jesus Christ. Faith and faith in Jesus Christ are very different. Only through faith in Christ can we be saved. I learned that true faith in Christ isn't believing that we will always get our desired outcomes. It means believing that although Christ doesn't move a certain mountain in our lives, He could. When we have true faith in Christ, we trust that He knows what is best for us and that all things will be done according to His will. We helped make a piñata! Piñatas are a Mexican tradition for Christmas. A lady in our ward named Hermana Guzman showed us how to make them. She said that the spikes on the piñata represent the sins of the world and th...

Transfer Week!

Hola! Last week was transfer week. I'm still in the same area, but I got a new companion. Her name is Hermana Morgan. She is from Nebraska, and she has been serving for 11 months. She is absoultely amazing! Missionaries here aren't able to drive until their second transfer. Now that I'm in my second transfer, I can drive! I hadn't driven in 3 months! It was so weird to start driving again. I didn't realize how much I missed it haha. Maria, Yamileth, and Yoanna got baptized on Saturday. It was amazing to see them before and after they were baptized. There was so much joy in the room. Yoanna just turned 8 a couple of months ago. She was so excited to be baptized. She had a big smile on her face when she came out of the changing room after she was baptized. It was so cute! Our ward had a combined Christmas party with the english and french wards. Our ward brought a piñata for the kids. I learned that there is a song you're supposed to sing when someone is hitting t...

Snow In Glendale!?

Image
Hola! Last week, Hermana Farnsworth and I helped with the Glendale Hometown Christmas Parade. We made sure that everyone was lined up in the right order and what not. The parade was over an hour and a half long! The floats just kept coming! It was crazy! I learned that I will never be a hairdresser. Hermana Farnsworth really wanted short hair, so she asked me to cut her hair. I had never cut anyone's hair before, but I decided that I would try it. It was nerve wracking to say the least. I was literally sweating because I was so nervous haha. Cutting hair is harder than it looks! I will not being doing that again anytime soon. A few nights ago, we decided to knock some doors in the top part of our area. We were walking up to one door, when I heard Hermana Farnsworth say "what is that?" I looked over, and there was a pile of snow! I was like where in the world are we? Hermana Farnsworth and I were so confused. We stood there for a second, thinking about all of the possible ...
