Be Not Weary In Well-Doing

Image
Hola hola! Last week was transfer week. A senior missionary couple came to pick up Hermana McInnes early Thursday morning to take her to the airport. The sisters in our district, Sister Kirby and Sister Bolton, picked me up and we were in a trio for a couple of hours before going to the transfer building. Transfer day is always super fun because we get to see a bunch of other missionaries. I was able to talk to Hermana Cruz and Hermana Curbelo a little bit and catch up with them. I love them both so much! Then I found Hermana Harrop and we packed up all of her stuff to head to our apartment. Hermana Harrop is from Iowa and has been serving for about 10 months. She is awesome and I'm excited to finally be able to serve with her! We had a few more lessons with Alberto last week. He is doing great! He came to church yesterday, and he wants to start coming to the English class at the church and the Elders Quorum activities each week. He is starting to feel more comfortable with the mem...

Hola todos! I hope that you are all doing well! We had an amazing miracle-filled week here! It's transfer week! Hermana McInnes leaves for Ecuador tomorrow morning and Hermana Harrop will be joining me here in Vía Verde. I'm super excited to serve with Hermana Harrop. We have served around each other a little bit and she is absolutely amazing!  We had a couple of visits with Alberto last week, and he accepted an invitation to be baptized on September 9th! He came to church on Sunday and brought his cute little boy, Emanuel. Alberto is getting to know more people in the ward, and he is starting to feel more comfortable sharing his thoughts and asking questions during our visits. He is so sweet and has a genuine desire to get closer to Jesus Christ. Alberto is from Columbia, and a new senior missionary couple from Columbia just moved into our ward last week! Their last name is Gonzalez. Last night, we had another visit with Alberto, and the Gonzalez family joined us. Alberto love...

Small And Simple Things

Hola hola! Last week we had our interviews with the Fisks and our zone leaders. During my interview with President Fisk, he asked me how Hermana McInnes and I were feeling about her going to Ecuador. I was confused because we had gotten her Visa, but we hadn’t received any other information. President Fisk said that the mission travel office had already sent him Hermana McInnes’ flight plans. I was very surprised. Somehow, the flight plans weren’t sent to Hermana McInnes, so she was also shocked when she found out. She will be flying out next week on transfer day. We both knew that this would happen, but it feels a little weird now that we know that its for real. One night last week, we felt prompted to do some finding on a street named Delcoa Drive. As we were getting out of the car, there was a women walking towards us with her dog. We felt like we should talk to her, so we did. She ended up saying that she wasn’t really interested. She spoke english, but we asked her if she knew any...

Hola familia y amigos! Well one of my worst nightmares happened in real life last week as I went to send you all an email and accidentally deleted it instead. So just imagine that you are actually reading this last week haha.  We started teaching a sweet lady named Sarah and her son Angel. They recently moved here from El Salvador. They are facing some big trials in their lives right now and are wanting to get closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Their work schedules are pretty busy, and it makes meeting with them regularly a little tough. However, they have strong testimonies of the power of prayer, and we know that God will help them to have time to meet with us and attend church as we all continue to pray. We went to the Consulate of Ecuador to get Hermana McInnes' Visa. Now she is just waiting for her flight plans to Ecuador. Afterwards, we were looking for a place to eat lunch. Hermana McInnes and I both love eating at new places. We found a little Mexican restaurant ca...
