¡Feliz Día De Acción De Gracias!

Image
¡Feliz día de Acción de Gracias! I hope that you all had a wonderful week and a happy Thanksgiving! Our friend Keinis had been sick for the past few weeks, so we weren't able to visit her. She was finally feeling better yesterday and invited us over for lunch. She is from the Domican Republic and is an amazing cook! It was so good to see her again, and we are planning to start visiting her again this coming week.  We have a new friend named Jennie! About a month ago, she moved here from New Jersey. She met the missionaries there and wanted to continue meeting with missionaries here in Arizona. She is facing a lot of trials right now and has incredible faith! Her situation doesn't allow us to have frequent contact with her, so we are trying to figure out the best way to support her and help her continue to learn.  We had another visit with our friends Liz and Jaycob. Last week, Jaycob got some amazing news from work, and we are all praying that it will allow him to attend churc...

Spiritual Preparation

Hola todos! Its transfer week! Hermana Rosales and I will be staying together here in the Chaparral and Vía Linda area. We have been assigned to be Sister Training Leaders. I'm super excited to be here with Hermana Rosales for another transfer. There are lots of great things that are happening right now and that will be happening here soon!  Over the last couple of weeks, we have been focusing on helping our friends and the recent converts in our area connect more with the members in our ward and branch. It has been amazing to see these people build real friendships and open up to each other. There is a sweet woman in our branch named Hermana Neri and she has 5 little kids. She was baptized about 2 months ago and moved here only a few weeks after her baptism. Hermano and Hermana Manton from the branch have taken in Hermana Neri and her kids like family. They come to our visits then stay after to read with the kids and help them with their homework. It has been incredible to see how...

Spiritual Promptings

Hola hola todos! We're heading into the last week of the transfer and I honestly can't believe it. These last few weeks have flown by. Our friends are doing well, and we have some visits set up this week with a few people that we are hoping to start teaching. During one of our lessons with Keinis last week, we talked more in depth about the Restoration of the church. Hermana Rosales shared her incredible conversion story. She joined the church just three years ago when she moved to Chicago. It was amazing to see Hermana Rosales connect with Keinis and to hear her share how she came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on earth today. She has a powerful testimony! Keinis also invited us to her house last weekend to celebrate her daughter Zoe's 10th birthday. It was great to be there with them for Zoe's special day. They are such a sweet family.  We celebrated Día de los Muertos with the Thomas family. They are a sweet couple in ...

¡Feliz Halloween!

¡Feliz Halloween a todos! Last week was amazing, and our friends are doing so well!  At the beginning of the week, we visited Deyby and Mike. We had planned what we were going to teach them, but when we got to their apartment, the Spirit told us that we needed to change our plans and read 3 Nephi chapter 18 with them. As we started explaining what that chapter is about, Deyby and Mike were amazed to hear that Jesus Christ visited the people in the Americas. They had never heard that before. We then understood why the Spirit told us to change our plans and read that chapter with them. It was amazing to help them see how the Book of Mormon teaches us more about Jesus Christ. We were also able to help them see how the Bible and Book of Mormon work together as we connected John 10:16 with 3 Nephi 15:21. They were so excited to have this new knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Our friend Keinis' husband, Maicol, works late and we hadn't met him until last week. We didn’t know that he would...
