Taking His Name Upon Us

Hola todos!  I hope you are all doing well and had a fantastic week! It was a very quick and Spirit-filled week here in Arizona.  Last week, we had Zone Conference. Zone Conference is always so uplifting and motivates me to be a better missionary and disciple of Jesus Christ. It's always great to hear from our mission leaders and other missionaries. Everyone has different experiences and things that they have learned in life, so there is so much that we can learn from each other.  We were able to talk to lots of new people last week! On Saturday, Hermana Curbelo and I felt prompted to walk down a street called Cholla Street and talk to people outside in their yards. As we were walking, we saw two men working on a car in their driveway. We stopped to ask them if they would be interested in learning more about Jesus Christ. One of the men, whose name was Andrew, walked up to us then yelled back to the other asking if he was interested. When that man said no, Andrew turned b...

Small And Simple Things

Hola hola! I hope that you all had an amazing week! It's citrus season here, so we picked a whole bunch of grapefruits again. We also helped pull weeds and do some other yardwork. The weather here is beautiful! Everyone keeps telling us that it's really cold for this time of year, but I'm not complaining haha. The past couple of weeks have been in the 70s. It's amazing! We had a few more lessons with Daniela and her family last week. Her kids are named Denali and Victor, and her fiance's name is Armando. Armando and Victor both have not been baptized, but they told us that they want to be baptized! Daniela and Armando are still trying to figure out which day they are going to get married, so we aren't sure which day we can have the baptism yet. They all came to church yesterday and loved it! They are such a cute and fun family, and I'm so excited to continue helping them learn more about the gospel.   Maria, the woman who was baptized in December, came with ...

Hola hola! I hope that you are all doing well! It was another great week here.  Every Tuesday night, we have English classes at the church for anyone in the community who wants to learn English. After the class last week, a lady named Daniela and her fiance Armando walked in the church and were looking for our bishop. We showed them to his office, but he was in a meeting with another family. We started talking to Daniela and Armando while they were waiting. Daniela told us that she is an inactive member of the church and Armando is not a member. She said that they moved into this area a few months ago and want to start coming to church! We were able to show them around the church and have a short lesson before their visit with the bishop. The next day, we had a visit with them and their family. Daniela has three kids. It was an amazing visit! They are so excited to start coming to church again and learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Today, I read Moroni chapter 10 in...

Miracle Friday

Feliz Marzo!! We got our transfer news! Hermana Curbelo and I will be staying here in Solano, and Hermana Morgan is being transferred to another area. I'm excited to stay in Solano for another transfer. I truly love this area with my whole heart. The people are incredible!  On Friday, we went to a library in our area to do our language study. As we were leaving, a man came up to us and asked what church we are from. We started talking to him and explained a little bit about what we believe. His name was Ramon, and he spoke English. He said that he had actually been searching for religion, and asked if we had a Bible. We only had Bibles in Spanish, but we had a Book of Mormon in English. We asked if he would be interested in one, and he said yes! We gave him one and gave him our number. We invited him to start reading, and he said that he would give us a call! Later in the day, we went to Barnles and Noble to do our companionship study. As we were leaving, a man walked up to us and ...
