Feliz Navidad
¡Feliz Navidad!
I hope that you are all doing well and had a wonderful Christmas!
We have had some crazy weather here these last few days. We hit a record for the warmest day in December then spent the next day biking in the rain. Today, it was back to sunny and blue skies for Christmas.
We had a bunch of lessons with our friends and started teaching a man named Carlos who was taught by missionaries in the past. He changed his phone number and got a new phone, so the missionaries lost contact with him. He works for our branch president, President Valle, and asked him last week why we hadn’t reached out to him in a while. President Valle figured out that Carlos had changed his phone number, and he got his new number. We were able to have a lesson with both of them that night!
On Wednesday, we had our mission Christmas party. We have been waiting to receive physical copies of the new Preach My Gospel book since it came out during the summer. We've been using the digital version on our phones, but its been a little tricky to really study it and take notes. President Fisk told us that a special guest was coming to the Christmas party. Sure enough, Santa made an appearance, and his gift to each of us was a physical copy of Preach My Gospel. I've never seen a group of missionaries so excited haha. We had been praying for these books to come, so it was our Christmas miracle.
Today, we were able to help the Salvation Army as they served their Christmas meal. The opportunity to serve others as Christ would made this Christmas one that I will never forget. While studying about the birth of Jesus Christ, I have felt like President Henry B. Eyring said it perfectly when he stated that "The story of Christmas is a story of love." In John 3:16, we read "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I know that God loves each one of us. My prayer is that we may feel His love and strive to help others to do the same. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. With Him, all things are possible. Of these things I testify in His name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
I love you all!
Con Amor,
Hermana Kendrick
