Be Not Weary In Well-Doing

Hola hola!

Last week was transfer week. A senior missionary couple came to pick up Hermana McInnes early Thursday morning to take her to the airport. The sisters in our district, Sister Kirby and Sister Bolton, picked me up and we were in a trio for a couple of hours before going to the transfer building. Transfer day is always super fun because we get to see a bunch of other missionaries. I was able to talk to Hermana Cruz and Hermana Curbelo a little bit and catch up with them. I love them both so much! Then I found Hermana Harrop and we packed up all of her stuff to head to our apartment. Hermana Harrop is from Iowa and has been serving for about 10 months. She is awesome and I'm excited to finally be able to serve with her!

We had a few more lessons with Alberto last week. He is doing great! He came to church yesterday, and he wants to start coming to the English class at the church and the Elders Quorum activities each week. He is starting to feel more comfortable with the members of the ward and is making lots of friends.

Noel, Sarah, and Angel also came to church. They weren't able to meet with us last week, but we are planning to have a couple of lessons with Noel this week. Sarah's work schedule will be crazy for the next month, so she said that she won't be able to meet with us. Her and Angel still want to come to church though. Since this Sunday is fast Sunday, we will be inviting them to fast for Sarah's work schedule to improve so that they can continue meeting with us. We know that God will help them as they strive to grow closer to Him.

Hermana Harrop served in Solano last transfer, which is where I served when I first came to Arizona. My last night in Solano, Hermana Curbelo and I decided to knock a few doors at an apartment complex called Olive Tree. We had a few minutes to knock one more door before 9:00 p.m. We heard Spanish music coming from a door on the 3rd floor so we ran up the stairs. A lady named Ana answered the door. She said that she would be interested in meeting with us and we set up a visit for later in the week. Hermana Harrop became companions with Hermana Curbelo for the following two transfers. She told me that Ana and her two daughters ended up being baptized! I was so happy to hear that. As missionaries, we oftentimes don't know what ends up happening with the people who we found or taught in our previous areas. There are also people who we talk to on the street that aren't interested at that time but end up meeting with missionaries later on and we don't know about it. As I thought about this, I was reminded of a couple of scripture verses in Doctrine and Covenants section 64 that say "But all things must come to pass in their time. Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great." We all do good deeds each day that we don't get to see the end results of. They may be as simple as saying hi to a stranger or holding the door open for someone. Although we may think that these small acts of kindness don't make much of a difference, I can testify that they do. Everything that we do each day matters. I would like to invite you all to not become weary in well-doing. Although someone may not smile back or thank you for holding the door open, you are making a difference. I testify that God is proud of your efforts to serve Him and His children. I testify that each small act of kindness matters, especially to Him. He loves you, and He loves all of His children that you come into contact with each day. Although you may not see the effects of your good deeds now, I promise that you will one day. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love you all! Have an amazing week!

Con Amor,
Hermana Kendrick
