Carlos And Camilo

Hola hola!

What a week! We had some amazing miracles happen here.

We went to visit one of our new friends named Karin, but she wasn't home. Her niece Yanella was there though and we were able to start teaching her! She has a cute daughter too that just turned a year old.

We received a referral from a church Facebook ad a few weeks ago. It was for a man named Camilo, and he was wanting to come to church. We had been trying to contact him, but he was never home and didn't answer the phone. One day, we were finally able to talk to him on the phone and set up a visit. Last week, we had the visit, and it was amazing! Camilo was so engaged and truly interested in everything that we talked about.

Carlos (the man that we started teaching last week) and Camilo both came to church yesterday! They are around the same age and became friends. During Sunday School, the second hour of church, we talked about some of the parables in the New Testament. We broke off into a few groups, and each group was assigned a different parable to study for a few minutes. Camilo and Carlos were in the same group with some other ward members. The teacher asked someone from each group to volunteer to share what they had talked about within their group. Carlos volunteered and stood in front of everyone to talk! It was amazing! After church, all of the ward members were introducing themselves to Carlos and Camilo. The ward members loved them! Carlos and Camilo were so welcomed in the ward and they loved church. There was also a Why I Believe event last night. Its a devotional for people who are meeting with missionaries to hear a few speakers share why they believe in Jesus Christ and their conversion stories. It's in the church building across from the Phoenix Temple, so everyone is able to walk around the Temple grounds afterwards. Carlos and Yanella both came to the event! They loved hearing about eternal families as we talked about the imortance of temples and what happens inside of them. It was neat to teach them about temples as we stood outside of the temple.

Last week, I listened to the General Conference talk titled The Power of Spiritual Momentum by President Nelson given in April 2022. In his talk, President Nelson explains five actions that we can take to help us maintain positive spiritual momentum. President Nelson said that momentum can swing either way. For this reason, it is important for us to be conscious of which way our spiritual momentum is swinging. I would like to invite you all to read or listen to this talk by President Nelson. Then evaluate your spiritual momentum and determine one thing that you can do this week to create more positive spiritual momentum in your life. I promise that as you act on this thing, you will see your spiritual momentum increase in a positive way. I know that we are on this earth to make decisions and to act for ourselves. As we choose to follow Jesus Christ, we choose to have joy. I bear my testimony to your in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love you all!

Con Amor,
Hermana Kendrick
