The Gift Of Tongues
¡Hola familia y amigos!
Dia de Muertos is next week, so the MTC staff has been planting marigolds all week. There are marigolds everywhere! It looks so fun and festive here.
For our service project last week, my district helped fold clean sheets for the missionary houses and apartments. The Hermanas were assigned to fold fitted sheets. One of the workers here taught us how to do it. Who knew you could fold a fitted sheet and have it actually look good? Haha. I was pretty excited to learn how to do it.
Last Friday, my companion and I practiced teaching a lesson about the Doctrine of Christ to some Elders in our district. One of the Elders asked us a question that we didn't know how to answer in Spanish. We sat quietly for a few seconds thinking about what to say. All of the sudden, the words just came to me. It was amazing! I knew exactly how to respond to the question in Spanish. I'm still not great at speaking Spanish, but I know that the gift of tongues is real. This experience motivated me to continue working hard to learn Spanish. I know that if I have faith in Jesus Christ, my ability to speak and understand Spanish will increase.
During the Sacrament on Sunday, I tried hard to focus all of my thoughts on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I got emotional thinking about how the Savior really did die for me, yet I continue to make mistakes every day. There truly is no greater love than the love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for each one of us.
My district went to the temple this morning. It was amazing. It gave me the strength I need to finish out this last week of the MTC. I fly to Arizona on Tuesday. I'm excited to start my missionary service there, but I'm also a little nervous. However, I know that I'm not alone. Jesus Christ is with me every step of the way.
I love you all, and I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you too.
Con Amor,
